it wasn't just any play date though.
it was a twin play date.
four sets.
of boys.
all under the age of two.
fun stuff, right there.
i met stacy hogle through my best friend, sara.
she introduced us while we were preggo with our boys.
we exchanged a few emails.
and then the phone calls and texts started flowing.
daily.
i needed her. and she needed me.
i delivered my boys just two weeks before she had hers.
there hasn't been a week that has gone by without some sort of communication.
i have only known her for {almost} two years.
and have only seen her face-to-face FOUR different times.
the first time being last christmas :: our first annual twin play date{s}.
{i loved that we combined them this year....and added the meyer's}
but, i consider her my best friend.
this twin thing is hard.
but when you have a best friend going down the same road.
somehow :: it just makes it easier.
i also met blair schluter through my best friend, sara.
although our husbands knew eachother in college.
they were both phi delt's at OSU.
but, it wasn't until i was pregnant with the boys when sara introduced us.
as she was also pregnant with twins.
she had her boys 3 months before me.
and man :: did she give me the heads up on what to expect.
she was my life savor.
both in preparing for my boys.
and after they came.
when the tears came. and i thought i was loosing it.
she reassured me.
i.was.normal.
talk about peace of mind.

| i lack a picture of the three of them...this is carter. |
and jayna mayer :: nope, sara didn't introduce us.
my fabulous friend, betsy did.
i used to be part of the boyd family.
besty and i were roomies.
and we spent most of our time over at her parents.
ok, we spent most of our time eating over at the boyd house.
this was all until i got married and moved to texas.
sometime after that, jayna replaced me.
she and her daughter and now her twin boys.
what a bargain.
they lost one and gained five.
it was a pleasure meeting jayna and her sweet boys in person.
thanks blair, for opening up your beautiful home to all of us.
and sorry again for holden's melt down at the end.
{i helped jayna out to her car :: holden thought i was leaving him there. because i leave him SO often. silly kid.}

I think it's great everyone was able to get together - wow, that's a lot of boys :)
ReplyDeleteIt definitely looks like the trip was worth it and yes, I'm sure you are beyond thankful to be 'home.' I greatly enjoy reading your blogs - you really put everything into perspective and I've learned a lot from you. I can't emphasize enough what a wonderful mommy you are - you have two of the cutest little munchkins who are happy, healthy and full of life. They are truly blessed to have such a great mommy and daddy!!! hugs and kisses!
