spring cleaning
it's that time of the year.
the weeds are full grown in the flowerbeds.
the grass is growing and needs cut.
the signs of all things new. and fresh. are here again.
signs that winter is over.
and spring has sprung.
the little boys have been ALL OVER helping dah dah pull the big weeds.
pull big weeds dah {wish i could capture their sweet little voices on here}.
they've been out there every night.
anything to help dah.
today i got some help from the number one helpers.
some may find it hard to believe.
but :: i love mowing the yard.
as in, i have been known to fight adam for the job.
my love affair started after i had the boys.
and my gym days were put on hold.
one day, i decided to mow the yard.
for the exercise.
adam showed me how to operate the mower. and i was off.
just me and the lawn mower.
i found out quickly that there was something therapeutic about it for me.
maybe it was just the time away from the babies.
maybe it was the noise of the mower.
maybe it was the smell of the grass being cut.
i love seeing the lines the mower makes in the grass.
a sign of where i've been.
and where i've yet to be.
our house sits on about a half an acre.
which for where we are from :: that's HUGE.
one of adam's first purchases was a riding lawn mower.
i was sad to think my days of mowing the yard were over.
but lucky for me, we have to push mow the front yard due to the new seed.
i know my days of mowing are numbered.
i'm cherishing them AND these pictures that he captured.
i love the looks i get as people/neighbors drive by.
i often wonder what they think.
do they wonder why the husband makes the wife mow the yard?
do they feel sorry for me?
i mean, most people around here have professionals mow their yard.
NOT the poor stay at home mom of twins.
i hope they think :: man, she must LOVE to mow the yard. how lucky is her husband!
