OnE MonTH

the loves of my life are one month old.
well, they were on the 26th of may.
we will pretend it is still may and the 26th, okay?

i think most of you...whoever you are....have been following us on facebook or via my emails.
for those of you who aren't on facebook - we had those sweet boys april 26th both at 12:12.
my life forever changed that day.
they are the sweetest little guys ever.
daddy and i are absolutely in LOVE with them.

i'm not totally with it just yet (I NEED SLEEP), but i did want to post this not only for you...again, whoever you are, but for me too.
these boys are growing and changing daily and i want to capture their first month before i totally forget it.
hopefully sooner than later, i will be back with more insight into our lives.
but, maybe i won't.
maybe i will see you all at two months.
which, i will have the traditional monthly picture, with sign and all.
didn't have it together for their one month picture.

StaTs on Ledger:

weight: 8lbs 10oz.
length: 20inches.
head: 14inches

StaTs on Holden:

weight: 7lbs 5oz
length: 19inches
head: 13 inches

FeeDiNg'S:

both boys are on the same schedule.
they eat every 3 hours (even if i have to wake them) during the day.
we started out tandem feeding (this lasted 2 weeks).
holden struggled staying awake - someone had to come get him and burp him or change his diaper to stimulate him....i knew this wasn't going to work out when i was by myself.
holden was also born tongue tied - which caused some issues nursing.
(we got his tongue snipped at the one month appointment).
we switched to pumping, which is what still works for us.
week 3 they were eating 3oz of BM.
ledger decided that wasn't enough, and holden followed suit right behind - but mommy couldn't give them more just yet.
so, we had to do the dreaded formula....yuk!
it was a very sad and emotional day around here.
but, we are some what adjusted to this reality now and all is going well.
they eat 4oz now.
3oz BM to 1oz of the yuk stuff.
i still nurse one of them at a time about once a day.
but for now, the pumping and bottle is working for the 3 of us.

rAndOmS:

ledger:
- you are wearing newborn clothes & newborn diapers.
- you are the sweetest little boy.
- you hardly ever make a peep - except if you are hungry or gassy.
- you sleep so well - love your naps.
- you have the cutest little dimples - on both sides - could eat you up.
- you are getting chunkier and chunkier - which is making those cheeks that much more edible.
- you are just one pleasant baby.
- your nickname is Milk Jug.

holden:
- you are wearing preemie clothes & preemie diapers.
- you are very alert, especially for being my preemie.
- you are ALWAYS awake.
- you have a harder time knowing it is time to close your eyes - mommy has to help you out more than brother with getting you to sleep.
- you love to snuggle with mommy and hate when i have to put you down.
- you LOVE your food and make the cutest face and sounds when the bottle is nearing your mouth - one your daddy loves to imitate.
- you are loved so so much.
- you are very handsy - always have your hands moving and trying to hold on to something.
- your nickname is Squawk Box.

general:
- we should own stock in Gripe Water and Gas Drops.
- we feel as if 1/2 are days are spent trying to get you two to burp.
- you both HATED bath time until about 3 weeks.
- both of you can not sleep without being swaddled.
- your big sister, ki'ya is NOT a big fan of you two - think she wishes you guys would just go away.
- you both sleep in the same pack-n-play for now in our room.
- we LOVE you both with all of our hearts.
